The General Assembly is the top decision making body. It elects from its members, the Executive Committee (EC). The EC provides guidance to the overall policy, planning and performance of the NGO. The General Assembly appoints the Executive Chairman who is the head of the AGENDA Secretariat and responsible for the day-to-day management of the NGO.

AGENDA has Regional Chapters to initiate and carry out activities of particular local importance.

Advice, Assistance and Guidance
To individuals, organization and community based groups on environment, chemicals and chemical waste, conservation and sustainable development in their respective areas. This is done mainly through creating awareness, availing information and training opportunities on best environmental practices and best available technologies and management skills; technical support and professional services, demonstrations, advertisements, exhibitions and trade fairs, joint venture (partnership schemes), soliciting for and administering project funds.

AGENDA has a Desktop Publishing Unit (DPU) for printing of low cost materials for environmental education. The unit is capable of producing a wide variety of printed materials including newsletters, brochures, education booklets, posters, etc.
Professional Services
These include conducting research and surveys; project development and management; organising workshops and other forms of meetings; and developing and conducting training programmes. AGENDA undertakes assignments related to environmental management and NGO management. These include Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Chemical Safety, Social Impact Assessment (SIA) Community Participation in environmental evaluation and in Organizational Assessment and Development.
Environment Information Service Centre
  • The centre generates, disseminate and market environmental information.
  • In-house data/information repository in the form of a library and documentation centre, and databases.
  • Desk-Top Publishing Services
  • Disseminates information through English and Kiswahili newsletters, special columns in local newspapers and other publications as well as occasional T.V. and radio transmissions.
  • Environmental information news agency.
  • Web-based information dissemination e.g. INFOCAP

AGENDA may act as an agent to execute a project on behalf of other organizations provided the objectives of the project do not contradict AGENDA's mission on sustainable development.
