Biodiversity Conservation
AGENDA in collaboration with government and other interest groups contributes to the initiatives for the conservation of biological resources by promoting the production of biodiversity education materials to support the Biodiversity convention in Tanzania. In 1998 AGENDA established a Desktop Publishing Unit for biodiversity conservation in collaboration with the International Centre for Conservation Education (ICCE) under the Darwin Initiative. The aim of the Unit is designing and printing of low-cost biodiversity education materials to help in conserving protected areas and endangered species. The Unit is a fast and economical way of producing printed materials, which is particularly appropriate for NGOs, government institutions and general public in developing countries. The unit is capable of producing a wide range of printed materials including newsletters, brochures, educational booklets, fliers, letterheads, cards, calendars and posters. |

Environmental Planning; Information
One of the AGENDA's strategies is to influence tertiary institutions to incorporate Environmental Education in their syllabi. In 1996 AGENDA organised a round table meeting of policy makers/curriculum developers to raise their awareness and appreciation of environmental problems in Tanzania and the potential role, which Environmental Education in their respective curricula could play in alleviating these problems. In this respect AGENDA in collaboration with the Institute of Adult Education reviewed and integrated environmental components in the curriculum of the Institute in 1998. This was funded by WWF (Tanzania Office).
